BWC has embraced Farm to School (F2S) to drive policies that strengthen wellness, local food procurement and advocacy. Nationally, its purpose is to have students gain access to healthy, local foods, nutrition education, school gardening, healthy cafeterias, cooking lessons and farm field trips.
F2S empowers children and their families to make informed food choices while strengthening the local economy and contributing to vibrant communities.
October is F2S month. Activities include: NC Crunch, Thank a Farmer, and World Food Day.
There are a variety of opportunities as a F2S initiative.
